Why itís always better to BBQ

There are many people who BBQ their food on a regular basis, but there are just as many people who do not understand the appeal of this cooking method. For some, a BBQ is the chance to make the most of the great weather and spend some time outdoors, but even in the summer these opportunities might be few and far between in the UK. However, there are a few reasons why you might want to consider a BBQ anyway.

The first good reason to BBQ is for the flavours. When cooked properly, the taste of grilled food can be amazing. You might have gone to BBQs in the past where the food was burnt on the outside and not cooked properly on the inside, and this may have put you off. Cooking properly on a BBQ involves more than simply flinging meat on the grill and hoping for the best! There are skills involved in getting everything just right. If you want to experience new flavours, consider using a wood smoker; foods that are cooked indoors simply cannot emulate the same flavours produced on a BBQ.

A BBQ is always convenient. The grills themselves are widely available, and it is easy to find one to fit any budget. You can even get the disposable versions; they are not quite the same, but they will do if you have no alternative. A good tip is to pick up a BBQ during the winter months, as lower demand will drive price down and make them more affordable.

The range of fuels available for the BBQ also makes them attractive. You can opt for a charcoal grill or a gas grill. If you are worried about using gas, for example, you can choose charcoal instead, or vice versa. You might be able to add in smoking woods like hickory if you are using a charcoal grill to add to the flavours of the food.

The versatility of the cooking styles and recipes also means that people can get more from a BBQ today than they did in the past. Why not try direct heat searing or rotisserie cooking? You can also take inspiration from almost every type of cuisine in the world when you are putting together your BBQ menu because most cuisines have recipes that can be made on a grill. Every time you host a BBQ, it can be a little different and you can be as inventive as you like.
